Kolhapur, Jan 1 (.) The 99th All India Marathi Literature Conference began at the historic Shahu Stadium on Thursday, jointly organised by Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad, Pune Branch Shahupuri and Mavla Foundation Satara/
It was flagged off by Sahitya Mahamandal President Prof. Milind Joshi.
The inaugural ceremony was also attended by the chief guest of the conference and the state’s Public Works Minister, Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivendrasinh Raje Bhosale.
After this, the book exhibition was inaugurated by the president of the 98th Sahitya Sammelan, Dr. Tara Bhawalkar, while the programs of ‘Kavikatta’ (poems), Ghazalkatta and Prakashankatta were inaugurated in the presence of this year’s 99th convention president, Vishwas Patil.
After the inauguration ceremony, a cultural programme titled ‘Bahurupi Bharud’ was held to mark the 750th birth anniversary of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and the memorial year of Sant Tukobaraya.
The Marathi literary world is coming together through brainstorming, poetry readings and cultural programs in this grand four-day literary conference.
The main inauguration ceremony will be held tomorrow morning in the presence of state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and 99th Marathi Sahitya Sammelan president Vishwas Patil. . SSS . .
