Windhoek, Jan 3 (.) Suné Wittmann will captain Namibia in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier, to be held in Nepal from January 18, as the side aims to secure one of the four remaining spots at the marquee event.
The Global Qualifier represents a historic opportunity for Namibia, which has never featured in a women’s World Cup in any format, and is now bidding to break new ground by qualifying for the first time, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Namibia earned its place at the tournament through the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier, where it finished in the top two, underlining its steady rise in the regional game.
The tournament will decide the final qualifiers for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be staged later this year.
