New Delhi, Jan 4 (.) Two elderly individuals were found dead at their residence in the M S Park area of Shahdara in the national capital in the early hours of Sunday, police said.
According to police, a PCR call was received at Police Station M S Park around 12:30 a.m. on January 4. The caller reported that his parents were lying unconscious at home and appeared to be dead.
Following the call, the investigating officer and police staff rushed to the scene. The caller, identified as Vaibhav Bansal, a resident of Ram Nagar Extension, Shahdara, informed police that his parents may have been killed.
During the inspection, police found two bodies lying in separate rooms on the third floor of the house. The deceased were identified as Parvesh Bansal (65), a homemaker, and her husband, Virender Kumar Bansal (75), a retired teacher. Both were residents of the same address.
Police said visible injuries were found on the face of Virender Kumar Bansal, indicating possible foul play.
The crime team and forensic science laboratory (FSL) team were called to the spot. The scene of the crime was thoroughly examined and photographed to collect evidence.
Both bodies were sent to the hospital mortuary for preservation and post-mortem examination.
Police said the possibility of robbery cannot be ruled out at this stage, and the case is being investigated from all angles. Further investigation is underway.
