Shimla, Jan 3 (.) The Poster of the web series ‘The White Truth’, produced by the Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti with the objective of creating public awareness against drug abuse, was released in Shimla on Saturday.
The poster was formally unveiled by the Shimla Mayor, who described the initiative as a strong and meaningful step towards addressing the growing problem of drug addiction in society.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Surinder Chauhan stated that the spread of dangerous synthetic drugs, particularly heroin commonly known as “chitta,” has severely impacted the youth and social fabric of Himachal Pradesh.
He said awareness-based initiatives are the need of the hour, and creative mediums like web series can play an important role in reaching young people with a powerful message. He added that the effort made by the Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti deserves appreciation and public support.
The Mayor informed that the White Truth web series will be formally launched on January 25, 2026, and expressed hope that it would contribute meaningfully to the ongoing campaign for a drug-free society.
Director and actor of the series, Suryansh, said, “The White Truth web series is based on the relentless struggle of a drug addict who won the invincible fight while coming out of the web of drugs and joined the mainstream of life.”
The director said that it is part of a broader social campaign and presents a realistic depiction of the harmful effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities. He said the series aims to motivate youth to stay away from drugs and choose a positive path in life.
State Secretary of Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti, Satyawan Pundir, appealed to the media and the general public to watch and share the web series, and to actively participate in this collective movement against drug abuse. Several social activists, educationists, artists, and members of the technical team associated with the project were also present on the occasion.
