New Delhi, Jan 22 (.) union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju will convene an all-party meeting of floor leaders from both Houses of Parliament on January 27 ahead of the Budget Session of Parliament starting January 28, a well-placed source said on Thursday.
The meeting is a crucial step in setting the agenda and ensuring smooth proceedings for the upcoming Budget Session.
It is expected that during the meeting, the government will engage with opposition and allied parties to outline the key priorities and foster a consensual approach.
The Budget Session, set to commence from January 28, will continue until April 2, with a recess in between. The first phase will run from January 28 to February 13, and the second phase from March 9 to April 2, encompassing a total of 30 sittings.
The highlight of the session will be the presentation of the union Budget 2026-27 on February 1. The session will officially begin with an address by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, to members of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.
