New Delhi, Jan 25 (.) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Sunday urged citizens to speak out about the daily hardships caused by air pollution, which worsens during the winter months.
Taking to social media, Gandhi asked people to raise their voices against the environmental crisis with far-reaching consequences for public health and the economy.
“We are paying a heavy price for air pollution — with our health and with our economy. Crores of ordinary Indians bear this burden every day,” he said.
Gandhi noted that children and the elderly are the worst affected, while pollution also disrupts livelihoods, particularly for construction workers and daily wage earners.
Stressing that the issue should not be forgotten once winter ends, he said raising public voices was the first step towards change.
Gandhi invited citizens to share how air pollution has affected them and their families on Awaz Bharat Ki, his official website, which he said would serve as a platform for people to convey their concerns and suggestions directly to his office.
