New Delhi, Jan 25 (.) Actor Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’ continued its strong run at the box office, showing a notable jump in collections on Day 2.
After a solid opening on Friday, January 23, the war drama gained momentum on Saturday, fueled by positive word of mouth from audiences across the country.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film’s collections grew by 26.46pc, earning Rs 40.59 crore on its second day. Combined with its opening day collection of Rs 32.10 crore, ‘Border 2’ has now amassed a two-day total of Rs 72.69 crore in India’s net business.
The film is expected to see an even bigger boost over the extended weekend, with Sunday and the Republic Day holiday on Monday likely to attract more viewers.
Adarsh noted that strong audience response has helped the film perform exceptionally well in mass circuits, with several theatres running near full capacity. Even in major cities like Mumbai, where the opening was moderate, footfalls picked up significantly on Saturday.
Inspired by the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, ‘Border 2’ depicts the combined efforts of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, marking Sunny Deol’s return in uniform.
Directed by Anurag Singh, the film also stars Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh, and is produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films.
