Patna, Jan 27 (.) Bihar Sports Minister Shreyasi Singh, who is in Tashkent as part of the Indian delegation to attend the 46th Annual General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), paid a heartfelt tribute to former Prime Minister late Lal Bahadur Shastri.
The delegation including Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar State Sports Authority Ravindran Shankaran and Secretary of the Sports Department Mahendra Kumar led by Singh reached Tashkent where they offered homage to the former Prime Minister and paid tribute at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial Corner in Tashkent.
The memorial has been established in memory of the historic 1966 India–Pakistan agreement, known as the Tashkent Declaration, and features a statue of Shastri as a lasting symbol of peace and statesmanship.

The visit of Singh was described as an emotional moment, recalling India’s diplomatic legacy, peaceful leadership and the spirit of supreme sacrifice in national interest.
The delegation also visited the newly constructed Olympic Village in Tashkent, equipped with world class sports infrastructure. The complex offers all weather indoor facilities for a wide range of sports, including swimming, track cycling, boxing, football, athletics, hockey, handball, volleyball, and wrestling.
Meanwhile the delegation member said the visit provided valuable insights into modern sports infrastructure planning, innovative use of materials, and efficient implementation.
