    Chennai, Jan 27 (.) In all countries, including India, will vie for honours in the Track Asia Cup 2026, a UCI Class-2 Track Cycling competition, to be held here from January 29 to 31.
    It will be held at the SDAT Cycling Velodrome on the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University (TNPESU) campus.
    Organised by Tamil Nadu Cycling Association (TNCA) in association with the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT),
    the international track cycling event will see participation from 11 countries, featuring 70 international cyclists and 50 Indian cyclists, including cyclists from SDAT Hostels.
    The competition will include 11 events–Sprint, Individual Pursuit, Team Pursuit, 1 km Time Trial, Keirin, Team Sprint, Scratch Race, Omnium, Madison, Points Race, and Elimination–and will be conducted as per the latest UCI rules.
    The open-air concrete velodrome, measuring 333.33 metres in length, is equipped with international-standard specifications.
    Sprint events will follow the UCI format, including a 200m time trial qualification and knockout rounds, a release from TNCA said
    today.
    The event is expected to provide vital international exposure for Indian cyclists and further strengthen Tamil Nadu’s position on the Indian and global track cycling map.
    The Track Asia Cup will feature a total prize money of USD 10,000, to be awarded to the winners.

    in international track cycling. With world-class infrastructure at the SDAT Velodrome and strong collaboration between CFI and TNCA, we are confident the event will set new standards in organisation and hospitality.” J.     “The Track Asia Cup marks a significant step forward for cycling in Tamil Nadu, offering our athletes the opportunity to compete at
    the highest international level and gain vital global exposure. TNCA remains committed to building a strong, structured pathway that nurtures excellence and shapes the next generation of champions.” M. Sudhakar President, TNCA said.
    “The inaugural Track Asia Cup marks a historic milestone for Indian cycling as our first UCI Class 2 event on an outdoor velodrome.
    At the Cycling Federation of India, we remain committed to delivering competitions that meet the highest global standards of safety, organisation, and sporting excellence, while welcoming athletes from across the world to be part of this landmark moment.” Cycling Federation of India Secretary General Maninder Pal Singh, noted.
    The event is expected to serve as a catalyst for the growth of track cycling in India, offering valuable international exposure to athletes, officials, and volunteers, while further establishing Chennai as a key venue for global cycling competitions.
