New Delhi, Jan 30 (.) The Government’s monthly accounts for the financial year 2025–26 up to December 2025 show total receipts of Rs 25,25,156 crore, representing 72.2 per cent of the Budget Estimates for the year, while total expenditure stood at Rs 33,80,998 crore, accounting for 66.7 per cent of the annual budgeted outlay, an official statement said on Friday.
Net tax revenue collected by the Centre during the period amounted to Rs 19,39,254 crore. Non-tax revenue was recorded at Rs 5,39,855 crore, and non-debt capital receipts stood at Rs 46,047 crore.
During April–December 2025, the Centre transferred Rs 10,38,164 crore to state governments as their share of central taxes. This was Rs 1,37,014 crore higher than the amount transferred during the corresponding period of the previous financial year, the finance ministry statement added.
On the expenditure side, revenue expenditure reached Rs 25,93,063 crore, while capital expenditure was Rs 7,87,935 crore during the first nine months of FY26.
Interest payments made during the period amounted to Rs 9,11,059 crore. Expenditure on major subsidies, including food, fertiliser and petroleum, totalled Rs 3,17,490 crore.
The monthly fiscal data up to December 2025 reflect steady revenue mobilisation alongside continued spending on welfare, infrastructure and debt servicing, with both receipts and expenditure tracking close to their respective budgeted levels for the financial year. . SAS KK
