Noida, Jan 31(.) Punjab Royals head Coach Bhupesh Kumar on Friday said after his side’s 4-5 loss to Haryana Thunders in the ongoing Pro Wrestling League(PWL) that the match was well contested and several close encounters could have gone either way.
Haryana Thunders secured a 5-4 victory in the first semi final of the Pro Wrestling League(PWL) being played at Noida’s indoor stadium.
Addressing the post match press conference Kumar said
“It was not our day today, some of our later bouts were close and could have gone either way, and we lost them narrowly. Ana Godina fell for a very well executed the technique, had she survived that then she would have won, Ana was winning Rajnita was also going very strong, she was not able to hold on to her lead.”
He felt that the league’s renewal after 2019 is a very positive sign for wrestling in the country “this is the world’s biggest league, so many champions from different countries never play together in any league, even during the earlier four seasons Indian wrestling got good impetus and renewal of the league is very good for our wrestling.”
The second semi final will be playd between Delhi Dangal Warriors and Maharashtra Kesari later today.
