New Delhi, Feb 5 (.) Rajya Sabha adopted the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address as Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the Motion in the House on Thursday.
Earlier, the motion had been passed by the Lok Sabha without the delivery of an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As the PM began his speech, the Opposition benches started pitched sloganeering and shouting creating a din in the house with PM himself pleading to the Leader of the Opposition in the House, Mallikarjun Kharge to take his seat and do the slaganeering.
As the entire Opposition walked out of the house registering their protest against the government, PM Modi, in an almost 2-hour-long reply, both enumerated his government’s achievements and lashed out at the Opposition parties against their destructive attitude.
The Rajya Sabha chairman extended the duration of the House for the Prime Minister to complete his reply to the Motion of Thanks.
After the PM’s reply to the Motion, the Chairman declared the motion adopted.
