Kaza (Himachal Pradesh), Feb 6 (.) The third season of the Spiti Cup, a major winter sports event in Lahaul and Spiti district, will be held from February 7 to 11, 2026, at Kaza. The tournament would feature Ice Hockey and Speed Skating competitions over five days.
The event is being organised by the Ice Hockey Association of Lahaul Spiti (IHALS) in collaboration with the Spiti Administration. This year’s tournament has expanded, with 22 matches scheduled compared to 18 last season.
Teams from five zones—Center, Lahaul, Pin, Sham and Tod—would compete in a league format across three categories: Senior Men, Women and Under-18 Boys. Lahaul will participate in the Senior Men’s category for the first time, marking an important step in inter-valley competition.
The tournament will begin on February 7 with an Open Speed Skating event, followed by Ice Hockey matches in all categories. The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Kaza Ice Rink in the presence of Chief Guest Chhatar Singh Thakur, Congress Youth President, Himachal Pradesh and Vice-Chairman, State Sports Council, along with Guests of Honour Tsering Bodh and Dr. Vikas Rowpa.
Four to five matches would be played daily during the five-day event. Speed Skating competitions will be held in Under-16, Under-18 and senior categories, with participants from outside Spiti also taking part.
The Spiti Cup will conclude on February 11 with final matches and a closing ceremony, where team and individual awards will be presented.
