New Delhi, Feb 8 (.) Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory in view of the Centenary Year celebrations of Shriram College of Commerce, North Campus, Delhi University, scheduled on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, an official said.
According to the police, motorists are likely to face traffic disruptions on key routes in the North Campus area, including Chhatra Marg, University Marg, Sudhir Bose Marg, Guru Teg Bahadur Marg, and Mall Road.
The police have stated that traffic will be diverted from major points such as St. Stephen’s College Red Light, Hindu College Red Light, Kranti Chowk, Patel Chest, and connecting roads to Delhi University. Emergency vehicles will, however, be allowed passage as usual.
“Alternate routes have been suggested to minimize inconvenience. Traffic coming from Mall Road toward Chhatra Marg will be diverted via Khalsa College Red Light and Guru Teg Bahadur Marg, while those heading toward University Marg will follow the same diversion,” a senior officer said.
Vehicles approaching Chhatra Marg from GTB Marg and Vijay Nagar Marg will be redirected from Patel Chest to Guru Teg Bahadur Marg, then via Sudhir Bose Marg and Sant Kirpal Singh Marg.
Traffic from MCD Chowk, Malkaganj, and Bonta Park toward the Rugby Ground in North Campus will be rerouted from St. Stephen’s Red Light to Kranti Chowk and then onto Guru Teg Bahadur Marg, the officer mentioned in his statement.
The Traffic Police have urged commuters to avoid the affected roads and refrain from roadside parking, which could obstruct smooth traffic flow. They have also advised motorists to plan their journeys in advance and follow police instructions at diversion points.
