‎New Delhi, Feb 9 (.) The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) on Monday announced that it will gherao the Prime Minister’s residence on Tuesday to protest what it claims is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name appearing in the so-called Epstein Files and his alleged silence on the issue.
‎The protest, scheduled to begin at 1 PM near Jantar Mantar, will be led by Indian Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chib, party officials said.
‎In a statement, the Youth Congress said the demonstration is aimed at demanding a clarification from the Prime Minister and seeking accountability on what it described as a matter of serious public concern.
‎“The Prime Minister owes answers to the people of this country. His continued silence on reports linking his name to the Epstein Files raises serious questions,” Chib said, adding that the Youth Congress would intensify its agitation if no response was forthcoming.
‎The organisation alleged that the issue goes beyond partisan politics and concerns transparency and moral responsibility in public life. “When questions are raised about the highest constitutional authority, evasion cannot be an option,” Chib said.
‎The Epstein Files refer to documents and records linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, whose alleged associations with influential figures across the world have been the subject of widespread scrutiny and controversy. The Youth Congress has claimed that recent references warrant an explanation from the Prime Minister, a charge strongly rejected by the ruling party in the past as politically motivated.
