New Delhi, Feb 12(.) American golfer Jhared Hack, who is currently competing at the DP World Players Championship 2026 being played at the Qutab Golf Course in New Delhi feels that the PGTI tournament is growing at a fast pace and in a few years time will emerge as a major event.

Speaking to . on the sidelines of the Championship on Wednesday, Hack said “I think PGTI is doing a great job, I came over here as the opportunity was better than anything that I had over there(US) after not getting through Q school, I think everything is on the right track here, the fields are going to keep getting stronger, you are going to get more international players coming to play this tour because of the opportunity and the way it is run, in 3-4 years from now this tour is going to be really big.”

The SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship 2026 winner rated the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort of Naya Raipur very high “it is a very nice resort, nice and quiet, hence it was easy to get into as rhythm”

The 36 year old spoke about the playing conditions at the Qutab Golf Course

“Greens are good greens are quick, so if you hit a good solid putt it has a chance to go in, yesterday the greens were very fast due to high wind speed. I expect the winning score to be somewhere around 20 under par or 22 under par.”

Jhared, who turned pro in 2008 praised Indian players, especially their ability to score “they have an ability to score, something that I think is a little lost in some of the younger players in the states, they are all science, data and all this stuff, there is an art to this game too.”

Jhared Hack went bogey-free for the second day in succession on Wednesday to storm into the halfway lead. Jhared Hack (64-63), was not in the best of physical shape on Wednesday but still managed to follow up his first round of 64 with an even better seven-under 63 on day two to move his total to 13-under 127 and thus gain two spots from his overnight tied third position.

He said that he decided to take up golf as he felt that he was more suited to individual sports

“growing up I played some other sports competitively, especially baseball, it is a team game and if I erred in that I let the team down, or if somebody else had a bad game the same result, but in Golf it’s just you, you either win it for yourself or lose it for yourself. So I enjoyed that aspect of it.”

He advised aspiring golfers to enjoy the game, be patient and not be too self critical

“what works for me is staying patient not beating myself up if I play a bad shot. I didn’t try to hit a bad shot, it happened, so don’t be so self critical, this is learnt thing. I was very hard on myself for a very long time; it makes it not fun, so as long as you can make it fun and be kind. I advise aspiring golfers to have fun first, and it’s always learning, so find something every day to learn from, don’t be very critical just keep learning and have fun.”
