New Delhi, Feb. 12 (.) A 17-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed to death in the Bawana area in north-west Delhi, Police said on Thursday, and seven individuals, including four juveniles, were arrested in connection with the case.
The accused taken into custody were identified as Salin, 21, Sahil, 20, and Fahad, 18, all residents of JJ Colony. Police said they received information about the stabbing at around 9:36 PM on Wednesday.
“The deceased, Salim, a resident of JJ Colony, was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead,” a senior officer said, adding that in his medical reports it was found that he sustained several stab wounds in his chest and other parts of his body.
As per the complainant, Salim was intercepted by the accused around 8:30 PM and was allegedly assaulted in connection with a prior dispute.
Police said that while some of the attackers assaulted him with fists and kicks, others allegedly stabbed him with knives. Based on the details gathered in this matter, a case was registered at the Narela Industrial Area Police Station.
Amid the probe, it was found that the accused and the victim had prior enmity. “A team scanned the CCTV footage of the vicinity and analyzed technical surveillance data along with local intelligence, which led to the arrest of seven suspects, including four minors,” the officer said.
Additionally, four individuals, all minors aged 16 to 17, have also been taken into custody. Police said one of the juveniles was linked to an attempted murder case.
Four knives, which were allegedly used in committing the crime, were confiscated at the instance of the accused. The police stated that they are also investigating the involvement of one Mohammad Farukh in the case for conspiracy and abetment in the crime. . DSV KK
