New Delhi, Feb 17 (.) The Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday launched special facilitation camps to promote the newly introduced Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima policy for beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).
The initiative was inaugurated by Secretary, DFS, M Nagaraju, who said the camps are aimed at helping government employees and pensioners better understand the features and enrollment process of the optional health insurance product.
The camps are being organised in collaboration with The New India Assurance Company Limited across various ministries and departments.
Introduced earlier this year, Paripoorna Mediclaim Ayush Bima is a supplementary health insurance policy exclusively designed for CGHS beneficiaries.
The plan provides cashless hospitalisation benefits and offers broader treatment coverage beyond existing CGHS facilities. Beneficiaries can opt for coverage of Rs 10 lakh or Rs 20 lakh and select suitable co-payment options based on their preferences.
The policy integrates both modern medical treatments and AYUSH therapies under a single cover, offering greater flexibility in healthcare choices.
Under the policy, coverage extends to the policyholder and eligible family members, with a simplified enrollment process facilitated through the awareness camps.
With the rollout of these camps, the government aims to strengthen healthcare security for CGHS beneficiaries by providing an additional financial safety net, ensuring better access to quality treatment across an extensive hospital network.
