Los Angeles, Feb 18 (.) Miley Cyrus has announced her return to the iconic Disney Channel series Hannah Montana with a special 20th anniversary event, set to premiere on March 24.
The celebration will honor two decades of the show’s enduring legacy, featuring a live, in-depth conversation with Cyrus as she revisits the sets, music, and memories that made the series a cultural phenomenon.
Disney released the first-look teaser on its Instagram captioning “Going back to where it all began. The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special premieres March 24 on Disney . MileysMemories.”
The clip opens with a car pulling up to Stage 9, where the original show was filmed, its number plate reading “HM 20,” before giving fans a glimpse of Miley’s iconic boots.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cyrus will sit down with Alex Cooper, host of the Call Her Daddy podcast, for a conversation exploring “the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the show and character have had on fans worldwide.”
The special will feature recreated sets, including the Hannah Montana closet and the Stewart family living room, alongside never-before-seen archival footage and music from the show.
Cyrus shared her excitement about the milestone, saying, “Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection.”
She added, “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
The special is produced by Unwell Productions and HopeTown Entertainment, with Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Cooper, and Matt Kaplan serving as executive producers, and Ashley Edens as showrunner.
Ahead of the premiere, Disney will spotlight a dedicated Hannah Montana Collection, featuring all four seasons of the series, ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’, and ‘Hannah Montana’ and ‘Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert’, according to Variety.
The beloved sitcom, which follows a teenage girl balancing life as a pop star and ordinary student, launched Cyrus’ career and starred Jason Earles, Emily Osment, Mitchell Musso, and her father Billy Ray Cyrus. Over the years, the show also featured special appearances from stars like Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, and Dolly Parton.
