Los Angeles, Feb 21 (.) The forthcoming revival of “Scrubs” has enlisted its formidable cast including Neil Flynn, Christa Miller and Rachel Bilson.
The series will premiere with back-to-back episodes on February 25 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Neil Flynn (Shrinking, The Middle) and Christa Miller (Shrinking), who originally played The Janitor and Jordan, respectively, will reprise their roles. Additionally, Rachel Bilson (Nashville, The O.C.), Andy Ridings (Shifting Gears, All My Children) and Lisa Gilroy (Shrinking, Twisted Metal) will join the cast as guest stars.
Bilson will play Charlie, a beautiful and elusive visitor at Sacred Heart.
Ridings will play Wes, a pilot who delivers transplant organs, reports DEADLINE.
Gilroy will play Lily, an angelic-looking harp player who plays in the lobby of the hospital.
The “Scrubs” revival received a series order in July, with leads Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke all returning to their original roles as JD Dorian, Christopher Turk and Elliot Reid, respectively. The trio also executive produces. From the original cast, Judy Reyes will also be back as Carla Espinosa, and John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox.
In this new chapter, J.D. and Turk reunite professionally after years apart, confronting an evolved medical landscape and a new generation of interns.
“Scrubs” is executive produced by Bill Lawrence of Doozer Productions, who created the original series. Exec producers also include Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer of Doozer; Aseem Batra, who also serves as showrunner and Randall Winston.
The 30-minute comedy is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
