New Delhi, Feb 25 (.) Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who celebrated his 63rd birthday on February 24, is reportedly healthy and fit. Earlier on Wednesday, several reports claimed that the ‘Love And War’ director had suffered a heart attack on his birthday and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Bhansali’s team has now dismissed these reports.
Bhansali’s representatives issued a clarification amid ongoing speculation about his alleged admission to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, calling the claims “completely false and baseless.”
The statement read, “Hello good afternoon. Reports about SLB being hospitalized are completely false and baseless. There is no truth to them. We request you to kindly refrain from carrying any such stories, as they have no verified source. Thank you for your understanding.”
His family also addressed the situation, stating, “Mr. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is doing absolutely fine. He has gone in for a routine medical check-up and there is no cause for concern. We sincerely appreciate the love, care, and concern shown by everyone. Thank you for your continued support and warm wishes.”
Meanwhile, Bhansali’s next directorial venture, ‘Love And War’, is now expected to release in 2027 instead of the earlier anticipated 2026 date. The delay reportedly stems from extended shoot schedules and post-production work, as reported by Pinkvilla.
‘Love And War’ marks a major reunion between Bhansali and Ranbir Kapoor, following the actor’s debut in Saawariya. The project also represents the filmmaker’s second collaboration with Alia Bhatt after the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi.
In addition, the film reunites Ranbir Kapoor with his Sanju (2018) co-star Vicky Kaushal, while also pairing Vicky with Alia Bhatt, his lead from Raazi (2018).
With the shoot expected to wrap by June and post-production likely to continue through the end of 2026, a release around January 2027 or February 2027 is reportedly being considered.
