New Delhi, Mar 1(.) India will participate in the first Youth Delphic Games to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan later this month.

The Indian contingent will include 41 young artists – including 21 from Delhi, 10 from Himachal Pradesh, four from Karnataka and one each from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Haryana. The Indian team will leave for Bishkek on March 22.
Modern Pythian Games founder Bijender Goyal said in a press conference on Sunday, “For the first time in history, I am sending a team of officially organized national youth artists to participate in the first Youth Delphic Games (SCO member countries).
This is no ordinary cultural trip. This is India’s formal entry on the stage of global cultural competition – just as our teams represent the country at the international level in sports.”
Goyal further added, “Our young artists will represent India in music, dance, singing, folk arts, visual arts, art and craft, piano and many other creative genres.”
Goyal said, “We have a formal cooperation and memorandum of understanding with Russia through the International Delphic Committee, Moscow. This partnership has given the Modern Pythian Games global recognition and put India at the center of a new international cultural framework. This recognition is very important not only for the Pythian Games, but also for India’s cultural leadership role in the world. For a long time, art and culture spread globally. Through Modern Pythian Games, we are building an organized, transparent and inclusive cultural system- online and offline- where artists are given respect, opportunity and a global platform.”
“In the years to come, the Modern Pythian Games will create opportunities for millions of artists, create economic value and give India a permanent place in the global cultural calendar- just as the Olympics did for the Games,” Goyal said.
