Pune, Mar 1 (.) The Agrawal Marwadi Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Education (AMCCIE) on Sunday called for concrete, result-oriented and time-bound reforms in the forthcoming Maharashtra Budget scheduled to be presented on March 6.
In a release, office-bearers said Maharashtra remains the economic and industrial backbone of the country and requires decisive, policy-driven measures rather than routine announcements.
AMCCIE National President Rajesh Agrawal said Maharashtra needs rapid economic acceleration, not a phased approach. He said that industries and investors expect clear and bold decisions.
He demanded an immediate reduction of stamp duty to 2 per cent. The Chamber’s National Vice President Narendra Goyal sought a uniform 2 per cent stamp duty across the state. They said the existing high rates are discouraging real estate transactions. A reduction would promote transparency and enhance revenue collections.
General Secretary Umesh Mandot stressed the need for a strict and accountable single-window clearance system for industries. He called for legally defined timelines and accountability for departments responsible for delays.
Senior researcher Kamalraj Bansal emphasised the need for affordable 24-hour power supply to industries. He said uninterrupted electricity at competitive rates is essential. Higher tariffs than other industrial states could drive industries away, he cautioned.
National Advisor of the Chamber, Bhimsain Agrawal, proposed simplified and integrated compliance systems, along with interest subsidies and financial incentives for MSMEs. He also sought strong policy support for manufacturing, exports, electric vehicles, green energy and cluster development.
He further urged large-scale investment in infrastructure such as roads, metro networks, ports and logistics. He called for special encouragement to agro-processing, rural industrialisation, industry-linked skill development and dedicated policy support for startups and innovation.
