Hyderabad, Mar 2(.) Draper Startup House Hyderabad has transitioned into Draper Startup Hub, announcing a structured early-stage investment and acceleration strategy backed by the global Draper network founded by Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tim Draper.
The Hub plans to invest in 20 early-stage startups, with ticket sizes ranging from ₹50 lakh to ₹50 crore, marking its shift from a co-working and co-living community model to a capital-backed accelerator platform.
The announcement was made at a gathering of founders and ecosystem stakeholders in Gachibowli by co-founders Chaitanya, Sai Krishna and Deepika, who said the Hub would now actively identify, mentor and invest in promising early-stage founders to strengthen Hyderabad’s startup capital pipeline.
Originally launched as part of the global Draper Startup House network, the Hyderabad centre had functioned as an entrepreneurial co-working and co-living space.
With the transition, it formally enters early-stage investing while continuing community initiatives.
The Hub operates under the Draper ecosystem founded by Tim Draper, known for early investments in companies such as Tesla, Skype, Coinbase, Robinhood, Baidu and SpaceX.
The network has indicated interest in supporting scalable ventures emerging from the Hyderabad Hub.
The Hub also announced the second edition of its 12-day Draper Founders Program, scheduled for April. The residential accelerator will select founders through a screening process and provide mentorship, investor access and global ecosystem exposure, aimed at preparing startups for institutional capital.
Ajit Rangnekar, business leader and innovation ecosystem architect, said Hyderabad is consciously building structured innovation infrastructure.
Mentor and advisor Viiveck Verma said the city is at an inflection point and requires structured early-stage risk capital and disciplined mentorship to produce globally scalable companies.
The Hub also plans to collaborate with educational institutions to introduce structured entrepreneurship programmes at the school and college levels. Partnerships are currently underway.
With early-stage capital often cited as a bottleneck for founders outside Bengaluru and the National Capital Region, the investment rollout signals growing momentum in Hyderabad’s startup ecosystem.
