New York, Mar 3 (.) After claiming the spot with “The Rip”, Sasha Calle is set to front the next installment of Mike Flanagan’s popular horror franchise “The Exorcist”, which is set to hit the theatres on March 12, 2027.
Calle’s role is being kept under wraps, as is the plot of the film, written and directed by Mike Flanagan, which is shooting in New York City. What’s known is that the film will tell an all-new story set in “The Exorcist” universe and is not a sequel to 2023’s “The Exorcist: Believer.”
The cast also includes Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane. reports DEADLINE.
In addition to writing and directing the project, Mike Flanagan is producing through his banner, Red Room Pictures. The production team includes David Robinson representing Morgan Creek Entertainment, and Jason Blum on behalf of Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster. Executive producers include Alexandra Magistro for Red Room Pictures and Ryan Turek for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
Calle stars opposite Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in Joe Carnahan’s Netflix crime thriller “The Rip”, which spent three weeks at #1 on Netflix’s global English-language film list after premiering in January and remains at #7.
