‎‎New Delhi, March 4 (.) ‎Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended warm greetings to citizens across the country on the occasion of Holi, describing the festival as a vibrant celebration that fills the atmosphere with renewed energy and joy.

‎Taking to X, the Prime Minister conveyed his wishes, saying, “Infinite good wishes for Holi to all fellow citizens. May this festival, filled with colours and joy, bring a springtime of happiness into everyone’s lives. May there be a shower of the colours of prosperity, well-being, and success in the life of every person—this is my heartfelt wish.”

‎Emphasising the deeper significance of the festival, Modi noted that Holi brings a special vitality to the social and cultural fabric of the nation. “The festival of Holi fills the entire atmosphere with fresh energy. This is the greatest special feature of this celebration,” he said, adding that the sight of “colours of happiness scattered everywhere” immerses people in collective joy and delight.

‎The Prime Minister also invoked vivid imagery associated with the spring season, which coincides with Holi. In a poetic reflection, he described nature adorned with “newly blossomed clusters as ornaments, swaying as if dancing in the wind,” with branches and leaves glowing from pollen scattered by bursting flowers. He referred to the “deep, intoxicating cuckoo calls rising in the fifth note and overflowing into song,” saying the scene appears as though “the festival of Love (Kama) has been revived once again.”

‎Holi, celebrated across India and by Indian communities worldwide, marks the arrival of spring and symbolises the triumph of good over evil. The festival is known for its exuberant display of colours, community gatherings, music and traditional sweets, reinforcing bonds of harmony and togetherness.

‎The Prime Minister’s message resonated with these themes, underlining hope, prosperity and shared happiness as the nation joins in celebrating the festival of colours.
