Atlanta, March 3 (.) Prolific filmmaker and studio head Tyler Perry is turning his creative lens towards the high-stakes world of firefighting with his latest drama series, Where There’s Smoke.
Filming is currently underway in Atlanta, Georgia, according to DEADLINE.
The 16-episode drama will chronicle the lives of a group of firefighters who will navigate the intense challenges of their profession while grappling with personal struggles, fractured relationships, and the emotional toll of saving lives in a world filled with danger, drama, and heartbreak.
At the forefront of the ensemble is Tyler Lepley, portraying Owen, alongside Mike Merrill as Cameron and Da’Vinchi as Noah. The ensemble also includes Eltony Williams, Brock O’Hurn, Joe Hunter, Karen Obilom, Brittany S. Hall, Mariah Goodie, Jordan Rodriguez and Judi Moon.
Penned, helmed and mounted by Perry via Tyler Perry Studios, the film comes via his pre-existing creative partnership with Netflix, for which he has made the likes of “Beauty in Black”, “Miss Governor” and “A Madea Homecoming”. “Beauty in Black” was recently renewed for a third season.
