    Tirumala, Feb 28 (.) The Trust Board of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the world-famous Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala hills of Andhra Pradesh, has approved an annual budget of Rs 5,456.26 crore for the financial year 2026-27, giving priority to education, security and pilgrim amenities, said TTD Board Chairman B.R. Naidu here on Saturday.
    Speaking to reporters along Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra and board members after the trust board meeting at Annamayya Bhavan here, Naidu said that as per the revised estimates for 2025-26, the TTD accrued a revenue of Rs 5,394.52 crore.
    According to the budgetary figures approved by the board, the TTD is expecting to get the bulk of its revenue from Hundi (cash chest) offerings of devotees – to the extent of Rs 1,880 crore against revised estimatd of Rs 1,738 crore during 2025-26.
    While interest on TTD bank deposits is expected to be around Rs 1,205 crore compared to Rs 1,250 crore in the revised estimated for 2025-26 fiscal and revenue from the sale of “prasadam” is expected to touch Rs 650 crore against revised estimates of Rs 640 crore in the current financial year, it said.
    Naidu said an amount of Rs 175 crore is expected from the auction of human hair obtained from tonsuring of devotees’ heads up from Rs Rs 170 crore in 2025–26.
    He further said that the sale of special entrance darshan and Break darshan darshanam tickets would fetch around Rs 310 crore, slightly higher than Rs 305 crore in 2025-26 while from Arjitha sevas are expected to fetch Rs 135 crore in 2026-27, unchanged from the current year’s revised estimates.
    Receipts from accommodation and Kalyanamandapams are pegged at Rs 173 crore for 2026–27, the same as the revised estimates for 2025–26, he said.
    The bulk of the revenue expenditures, to the extent of about Rs 1,859 crore, would go towards salaries to the employees and other human resource payments While Rs 974 crore was allocated towards purchase of material, he said
    Rs 700 crore was earmarked for corpus and other investments and another Rs 475 crore for various engineering works, he added.
