The semi-final matches of the 32nd Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament 2026, organised by the Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung, produced thrilling contests in both the women’s and men’s categories today, when Assam Rifles, X-Polo Club and Chingkheihunba Polo Club secured their places in the finals in both categories.
In the women’s semi-final, Assam Rifles Women’s Polo Team outclassed Ibudhou Pakhangba Polo Club, Malom, registering a convincing 6–1 victory. Assam Rifles dominated the game from the opening chukker and maintained steady scoring momentum throughout the match. Ibudhou Pakhangba Polo Club managed to score a lone goal but struggled to match the pace and coordination of their opponents.
In the first men’s semi-final, X-Polo Club, Wangkhei edged past Assam Rifles Polo Team 8–6 in a competitive encounter. X-Polo Club capitalised on early opportunities and built a crucial lead, while Assam Rifles fought back strongly in the later chukkers. However, X-Polo Club held their nerve to secure a place in the final.
The second men’s semi-final witnessed Chingkheihunba Polo Club, Kongpal defeating Black Watch Polo Club, Babupura by 6–4 goals. Chingkheihunba displayed disciplined team play and tactical superiority, maintaining control during key phases of the match to seal their berth in the final.
