New Delhi, Jan 17 (.) Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Saturday said that the report presented by Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on remarks made by leader of opposition “is completely valid”, and “based on the examination of the original recording in the house.”
The Delhi BJP has demanded that the Delhi Assembly Speaker must initiate constitutional and legal action against AAP leader Atishi, and suspend her from the legislature.
Sachdeva, while addressing a press conference here stated that the forensic laboratory report examining the original recording of the Delhi Assembly proceedings with regard to the indecent where LoP Atishi made remarks against Sikh Gurus on January 6, has “conclusively established her offence”.
He also questioned as to why was Atishi not coming forward and apologising or speaking on the matter, if “she is really innocent”.
The Delhi BJP chief also mentioned that it was on Friday that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has aslo passed a resolution against Atishi, and announced action against her.
He added that there is widespread resentment against her among the Sikh community across Delhi, Punjab, and the rest of the country following the incident.
Meanwhile, Delhi BJP’s media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, who was also present at the press conference hit out at AAP stating that entire political journey of the party has been based on lies and deception, and currently also they are spreading falsehoods to hide their leader’s alleged offence.
Sachdeva once again stated that the entire nation is asking one question today, and that is where has Arvind Kejriwal hidden Atishi since January 7, and why is she not coming forward to apologise for her offence and bring this controversy to an end.
The BJP leader also strongly condemned the statement made by AAP’s Saurabh Bharadwaj, which he said appears to be an attempt to provoke communal tensions, he added.
Bharadwaj had said that the saffron party tried to incite communal tension between Hindus and Muslims, and that it now wants relations between Hindus and Sikhs to deteriorate.
The AAP leader claimed that Atishi did not use the word guru, alleging that the forensic report brought out by the BJP is based on half truths.. APS JRC
