Hyderabad, Jan 29 (.) ATR, the world’s number one regional aircraft manufacturer, has signed an eight-year Global Maintenance Agreement (GMA) with Indian regional carrier Fly91, strengthening a partnership aimed at supporting the airline’s measured fleet expansion and long-term cost control.
The agreement took place between the two companies at the ongoing Wings India 2026 held Begupet Airport here on Thursday.
Fly91 currently operates four ATR 72-600 turboprops, with two additional aircraft scheduled for delivery in early 2026.
The extended GMA is designed to support rising aircraft utilisation and fleet growth as the airline expands connectivity across India’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
The airline has been an ATR GMA customer since May 2024, benefiting from a comprehensive support package that includes lease stock, standard exchange and repair of line replaceable units (LRUs), and propeller availability and maintenance services.
With utilisation now exceeding 2,500 flight hours per aircraft per year, Fly91 has updated the scope of the agreement to secure long-term maintenance cost visibility and operational reliability.
The deal highlights the growing role of turboprops in India’s regional aviation market, where short-haul routes and expanding airport infrastructure are driving demand for cost-efficient aircraft and predictable maintenance solutions.
Manoj Chacko, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fly91, said: “The last 22 months of operations has demonstrated the importance of having a dependable maintenance partner. ATR’s GMA has been instrumental in keeping our aircraft flying reliably, even amid global supply chain constraints.”
Stefano Marazzani, Senior Vice President Customer Support and Services of ATR, said “The Global Maintenance Agreement delivers this value consistently, while also offering an ambitious airline like Fly91 the crucial benefit of cost visibility and control needed to scale operations smoothly. We are proud to stand alongside them as their network and fleet continue to grow.”
