New Delhi, Jan 5 (.) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has spoken warmly about his long-standing professional and personal association with veteran makeup artist Deepak Sawant, describing their relationship as one built on discipline, mutual respect, and unwavering commitment.
Sharing a rare behind-the-scenes moment from the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bachchan reflected on how Sawant has remained a constant presence throughout his cinematic journey, spanning generations of films and television.
“He is Deepak Sawant. He has been working with me for 50 years. Throughout this period, I have worked on at least 200 films. There was not a single day when he was not with me. He is absolutely duty-bound. He is always on time, no matter what,” Bachchan said in the clip shared on Instagram by Sawant.
The Piku actor also highlighted an incident that, according to him, best defines Sawant’s integrity and dedication to work. Recalling a difficult personal moment in the makeup artist’s life, Bachchan said that Sawant reported to duty despite losing his brother.
“Deepak Sawant’s brother passed away. And despite that, he came to work. He had no one to ask him to work. This is integrity. This is commitment,” Bachchan said.
Responding to Bachchan’s words, Sawant expressed gratitude and humility, saying the actor’s appreciation continues to motivate him.
“Mr Bachchan’s kind words and appreciation always keep me grounded. Working with someone so humble, respectful, and loving towards his team is a blessing. At 76, his grace and encouragement still inspire my dedication to him,” he wrote.
The reflection comes close on the heels of the conclusion of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17, which recently aired its final episode. During the finale, Bachchan addressed viewers with an emotional note, speaking about the fleeting nature of time and the deep bond he shares with the audience.
