New Delhi, March 2 (.) BJP MP from Chandni Chowk and CAIT National Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal on Monday said the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) and Rasna is a significant step toward strengthening indigenous trade and advancing the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The MoU was signed in New Delhi by CAIT National President B.C. Bhartia, Rasna Group Chairman and Managing Director Piruuz Khambatta, and Rajeev Mallik, CEO of iPoint Ventures Pvt. Ltd., in the presence of Khandelwal.
The agreement aims to promote Indian brands in domestic and global markets and enhance collaboration between industry and trade bodies.
Under the partnership, CAIT, Rasna and iPoint Ventures will jointly work on trade expansion, digital trade solutions, skill development, training, micro-enterprise incubation and policy advocacy.
Khandelwal said the initiative would help reposition India from being viewed only as a large consumer market to a strong manufacturing and exporting nation.
He highlighted that the upcoming Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026, to be held from May 1 to 4 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, will serve as a major platform to showcase India’s manufacturing capabilities, MSME strength, retail expansion and export potential.
B.C. Bhartia said CAIT has consistently worked to strengthen Indian retail trade and expressed confidence that the partnership would boost the identity of Indian products in global markets.
Piruuz Khambatta announced that Rasna and CAIT will jointly launch an Indian B2B digital portal to enable retailers across the country to place orders online, aimed at accelerating business expansion and improving market access.
The three entities will also collaborate to generate new employment opportunities and strengthen the MSME sector through technology-driven trade solutions and capacity-building initiatives.
The CAIT–Rasna agreement is being seen as a strategic move to reinforce cooperation between industry and the trading community and to promote indigenous brands under the Atmanirbhar Bharat framework. . PKJ KK
