New Delhi, Feb 8 (.) The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has invited inputs and suggestions from stakeholders for the Income-tax Act, 2025, which received the assent of the President in August 2025 and will come into force from April 1, 2026.
As part of the consultative process, the CBDT has invited inputs under four broad categories namley simplification of language, reduction of litigation, reduction of compliance burden, and identification of redundant or obsolete Rules and Forms.
To streamline the feedback process, a dedicated utility has been launched on the Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal.
Stakeholders can submit their suggestions by providing their name and mobile number, followed by OTP-based validation. The CBDT has specified that all submissions must clearly mention the relevant provision of the proposed Rules or the specific Form number, including the concerned rule or sub-rule, to which the recommendation relates.
The inputs received will be compiled and examined before the final notification of the Income-tax Rules and Forms under the new Act, the Ministry of Finance said in a release.
Ahead of the final notification of the Income-tax Rules and related Forms under the new law, the proposed draft Rules and Forms have been uploaded on the official website of the Income Tax Department to facilitate wider stakeholder consultation.
The draft Rules and Forms, prepared after broad-based consultations, aim to align with the provisions of the Income-tax Act, 2025. The government has invited comments and suggestions from stakeholders before issuing the final notification.
As per the notification released by CBDT, the draft rules and forms shall remain in the public domain for a period of 15 days, i.e. upto 22nd of February, 2026.
Under the New Income Tax Act, 2025, there will be simplified Income Tax Rules and Forms redesigned for easy compliance by ordinary citizens.
