Kaza, Feb 10(.) Center Zone Women successfully defended their Spiti Cup title with a flawless campaign, winning all three of their games to retain the crown, as Day 4 of the Spiti Cup Season 3, powered by Royal Enfield, delivered decisive results across categories at the Kaza Ice Hockey Rink. While Center sealed the women’s championship in emphatic fashion, the Senior Men’s title race remains wide open heading into the final day, with an unbeaten Center Zone still in contention. Pin Zone Men, meanwhile, continued their strong run and currently sit at the top of the men’s table with three wins from four games.
Center Zone Women underlined their dominance with a commanding 8–0 victory over Pin Zone to seal the title. Sonam Angmo was at the heart of the performance, assisting Zedhen Wangmo for the opening goal in the fifth minute. Zedhen followed it up with an individual effort in the 11th minute, before captain Angrup Chhomo made it 3–0 two minutes later. In the second period, Sonam Angmo added her first of the game in the third minute, assisted Angrup Chhomo in the 11th, and then scored again a minute later. Sonam completed a four-goal haul in the third period, scoring in the eighth and 14th minutes, as Center cruised to an 8–0 win and secured the title with three wins from three games.
In the other women’s fixture, Sham Zone confirmed a second-place finish with a 6–2 victory over Tod Zone. After a cautious opening period, Sham captain Tanzin Dolma struck twice in the opening four minutes of the second period, assisted by Kunga Yangchen and Nawang Zangmo. Late goals from Nawang Zangmo and Kunga Yangchen in the second period stretched the lead to 4–0. Kunga added another early in the third period before Tod mounted a brief response through Kesang Lamo and Nawang Lamo. A late own goal, however, sealed a 6–2 win in Sham Zone’s favour.
In the senior men’s category, Center Zone kept their unbeaten run intact with a 4–1 win over Tod Zone. Chhimed Namdol opened the scoring in the second minute and doubled the lead in the ninth, with goalkeeper Abhishek Thakur producing a series of crucial saves to deny Tod. Chhimed completed his hat-trick early in the second period before Tod finally broke through with a slap shot from Tushar late in the period. Tanzin Kunzop added a fourth for Center in the third period as they closed out the contest comfortably.
Pin Zone Men strengthened their position at the top of the table with a clinical 4–0 victory over Sham Zone. Kuzang Angdui scored the opener in the fourth minute and then set up Tanzin Dorje a minute later to double the lead. Pin’s defence remained resolute throughout, and goals from Dorje Giachho early in the second period and Kuzang Angdui’s second of the game ensured Pin finished the Spiti Cup Season 3 with three wins from four outings.
In the U-18 Boys category, Pin Zone secured third place with a thrilling 5–3 win over Tod Zone. Singe Wangchuk struck inside the opening 30 seconds to give Pin an early lead. Tod equalised in the second period through Takpa Tamfel, but Chhimed Dorje responded with two quick goals to put Pin firmly in control. Chhimed added two more in the third period to complete a four-goal haul. Tod mounted a late comeback with goals from Tanzin Thoysam and Tanzin Thonden, but Pin held on to seal a 5-3 win.
Tomorrow (February 11, 2026), on the final day of the Spiti Cup Season 3, Tod Zone Women will take on Pin Zone Women in the first game of the day- to decide third place in the women’s category. This will be followed by a crucial senior men’s clash where an unbeaten Center Zone face Lahaul Men, with a win set to secure the title for Center. The day will conclude with a decisive U-18 Boys fixture between Sham Zone and Center Zone, with the winner set to be crowned Spiti Cup Season 3 champions in the category.
The Closing Ceremony and Prize Distribution of Spiti Cup Season 3 will be held in the august presence of Chief Guest Smt. Anuradha Rana, MLA, District Lahaul & Spiti. The closing ceremony will celebrate not only the champions across categories, but also key individual and team achievements, including the Fair Play Award (Team), Player of the Tournament, and Top Scorers in each category, recognising excellence, sportsmanship, and consistent performance throughout the five-day competition.
Organised by the Ice Hockey Association of Lahaul Spiti (IHALS) in collaboration with the Spiti Administration, and supported by Royal Enfield Social Mission, the Spiti Cup continues to be a community-driven tournament focused on long-term grassroots development.
