New Delhi, Jan 30 (.) After a chilly Thursday, Delhi witnessed cloudy skies along with shallow to moderate fog during the morning hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.

The maximum temperature is expected to range between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to stay between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius.

Noida might see dense fog on Friday, while Gurugram is likely to have partly cloudy skies, and Ghaziabad experienced fog in the morning.

Delhi is likely to experience rain and thunderstorms between January 31 and February 2, according to the IMD.

The IMD said Saturday may start with moderate fog at several places and dense fog at isolated locations, with skies likely to become generally cloudy by the afternoon and evening.

“There is a chance of very light rain during the night, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 30–40 km/h,” the IMD added.

According to the IMD, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram may experience one or two spells of rain on February 1.

The IMD said there is a possibility of fog or mist in the early morning hours on January 31. Gurugram is expected to have partly cloudy skies on Saturday, the weather office added.

Data from various stations indicated that daytime temperatures across Delhi-NCR on Thursday stayed below normal, with Palam seeing the sharpest drop. Maximum temperatures ranged from 15.3°C to 18.5°C, up to 6.8°C below average in some locations.

Safdarjung recorded a slight drop in minimum temperature compared to the previous day, while Palam and Ayanagar were the coolest areas during the day. Overall, the city experienced cooler days but relatively milder nights.
