Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi” (Development and Heritage Together), the CM said the government is committed to promoting modern growth while preserving Delhi’s historical and cultural heritage.
She added that the zero-emission double-decker e-bus promotes sustainable development, green transport and clean tourism. The 63-seater bus is equipped with modern facilities, advanced safety systems and a panoramic upper deck to offer passengers a comfortable and memorable experience, while also helping reduce carbon emissions.
Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said the launch of the electric double-decker bus is not just the introduction of a vehicle, but a major step towards placing Delhi firmly on the global tourism map.
He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Gupta, Delhi is transforming from a ‘transit city’ into a ‘destination city’.
He added that Delhi is among the few cities in the world with more than 1,200 monuments, offering a unique blend of ancient heritage, colonial-era legacy and modern world-class infrastructure. Plans are also being made to host international events such as film festivals to boost tourism, concert economy, live entertainment and the creator economy.
