New Delhi, Feb 7 (.) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday inaugurated several civic development projects in some blocks of Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency.
Addressing local residents, the Chief Minister said the Delhi government’s focus is not only on construction but on improving people’s daily lives by making neighbourhoods safer, cleaner and more convenient.
She said works related to roads, drains and drainage systems will be carried out in AC Block and SD (C) area. These include construction of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) roads, RCC drains, road strengthening and reinforcement of the drainage network to prevent waterlogging during the monsoon.
Among the key projects inaugurated were construction of roads and drains in SD (C) Block using RMC and dense carpeting technology. A new RCC drain from SD (C) Block to LD Kohat Metro Station has also been started to provide a permanent solution to drainage issues in the area.
Development works have also begun in Nehru Park, Apna Park and Central Park in AC Block. These include walkways, walking tracks, boundary walls and overall beautification to make parks safer and more user-friendly.
The Chief Minister also announced that a new surface parking facility will be built in AC Block to ease parking problems faced by residents.
In addition, development works in lanes, drains and parks across AD, AJ, AL, AE, AF and SD (C) Blocks of Shalimar Bagh have been approved.
These include paving of lanes, repair of drains, improvement of park walkways and boundary walls, beautification of public spaces, and expansion of basic civic amenities as per local needs.
