London, Jan 22 (.) A forthcoming feature-length documentary will provide an in-depth examination of Lucy Letby, the former nurse serving a whole-life sentence for the murders of seven infants and attempted murders of seven others.
Scheduled for release on February 4, the film promises an incisive exploration of the investigation, the courtroom proceedings and the enduring public shock surrounding the case.
The feature-length doc will include “new materials and testimony from the British police who investigated the case and never-before-seen footage of Letby during her arrest and questioning,” Netflix said.
ITN Productions (ITN Productions) is producing the movie. The BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 have all already made Letby docs about one of the most high-profile British trials of all time and its fallout, reports DEADLINE.
However, Netflix’s iteration seeks to provide new revelations and contextual analysis, particularly as some experts have raised questions about the evidence underpinning Letby’s convictions since the conclusion of her trial.
Letby’s crimes occurred at the Countess of Chester Hospital, where a series of unexpected infant deaths prompted a police investigation shortly after she began working in the neonatal unit. Charged in November 2020 with seven counts of murder and fifteen counts of attempted murder, she remains imprisoned for life, and her case continues to provoke debate within medical and legal circles.
