Twenty years after The Devil Wears Prada became a cultural phenomenon, 20th Century Studios has released the first full trailer for ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, confirming the return of its iconic characters and teasing a high-fashion clash in a rapidly changing media landscape. The film is slated for theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
Meryl Streep reprises her role as the formidable Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway magazine, now facing the decline of print journalism and navigating the challenges of maintaining relevance and financial stability in a transforming industry.
Emily Blunt also returns as Emily Charlton, Priestly’s former assistant, who has risen to become a powerful executive at a luxury conglomerate. Anne Hathaway reprises her role as Andrea Sachs, whose entry-level position at Runway defined the original 2006 hit.
While the trailer offers few details about Sachs’ current career, her presence reconnects the sequel to the emotional heart of the first film, exploring the tension between ambition and personal life.
The original The Devil Wears Prada was both a critical and commercial success, earning USD 326 million worldwide, according to Variety.
