New Delhi, Feb 14 (.) Amid rumors on social media about Hrithik Roshan replacing Ranveer Singh in Don 3, the actor has publicly dismissed the speculation, emphasizing that he was never approached for the role.
“What started off as just a rumour has now taken on an entire life of its own, and it’s important to set the record straight. I would like to categorically clarify that I was never approached for Don 3 at any given time. Requesting media to steer clear of any such unverified reports,” the statement read.
Back in August 2023, Farhan Akhtar officially announced Ranveer Singh as the new face of ‘Don’ in the third instalment of the popular franchise. In the announcement teaser, Ranveer was seen sitting inside a high-rise building with his back to the camera. After lighting a cigarette and introducing himself as Don, he turned around to reveal his face.
The iconic character was previously portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the original film and later by Shah Rukh Khan in the rebooted version.
Reports have suggested that Ranveer Singh’s exit from ‘Don 3’ led to speculation about creative differences with Excel Entertainment. However, neither Ranveer nor producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have publicly addressed these claims.
For now, it remains unclear who will headline ‘Don 3’, or whether Ranveer and the makers will resolve their differences and move forward as initially planned.
