New Delhi, Dec 29 (.) India’s industrial production recorded a growth of 6.7% in November, according to the Quick Estimates of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Monday.
The growth was primarily driven by a strong performance in the manufacturing sector, which expanded by 8% during the month.
Mining output also registered a healthy increase of 5.4%, while electricity generation witnessed a contraction of 1.5% compared to the same period last year.
The overall IIP stood at 158.0 in November 2025, up from 148.1 in November 2024, reflecting a broad-based improvement in industrial activity.
Of the 23 industry groups within the manufacturing sector, 20 recorded positive growth, indicating widespread momentum across industries.
In the manufacturing sector, the top three positive contributors for November are Manufacture of basic metals (10.2%), Manufacture of pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemical and botanical products (10.5%) and Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (11.9%), MoSPI said.
Under the use-based classification, infrastructure and construction goods, intermediate goods, and consumer goods emerged as key contributors to the overall increase in industrial output.
