New Delhi, Feb 24 (.) The much-anticipated box-office clash between Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and Yash’s ‘Toxic’ has become a hot topic across the film industry, with fans eagerly awaiting the grand theatrical releases of both films.
Speaking to Variety India, Huma Qureshi, who plays a prominent role in Toxic, called the clash a “win-win situation” for the industry.
“No matter what I say, I think whichever way I look at it, it is a win for the Indian film industry and it’s going to be great for the audiences. It’s a win-win, the way I look at it and I think it’s going to be just like a fantastic time for movie-going audiences, and there is space for everyone to do well,” she said.
Both films are set to release on March 19, coinciding with the festive Eid weekend. While this timing is expected to draw packed houses nationwide, the division of screens may influence box-office collections, as both films could cut into each other’s business. Despite this, the makers of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and ‘Toxic’ are determined to retain the same release date.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ directed by Aditya Dhar, brings back Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, Gaurav Gera, and Manav Gohil reprising their roles from the first installment. The sequel will also be released in dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
On the other hand, ‘Toxic’, a period gangster thriller directed by Geetu Mohandas, is simultaneously shot in Kannada and English. The film features Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in key roles.
With both films backed by stellar casts and ambitious storytelling, the March 19 weekend promises a memorable cinematic showdown for audiences across India.
