New Delhi, Mar 01 (.) Zimbabwe scored 153 runs for seven wickets against South Africa in the Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup on Sunday thanks to the brilliant innings by captain Sikandar Raza (73) and Clive Madande (26 not out).
Zimbabwe won the toss and decided to bat first. Zimbabwe did not get off to a good start and lost two wickets with the score at 28.
T. Marumani scored just 7 runs, while Brian Bennett was run out on 15. The pair of Dion Meyers and Sikandar Raza tried to steady the innings.
The duo added 38 runs for the third wicket. In the ninth over, George Linde broke the partnership by dismissing Dion Meyers (11).
Ryan Burl (5) and Tony Munyonga (2) were dismissed. In the 17th over, Kwena Maphaka dismissed Sikander Raza, who was scoring at a brisk pace.
Raza played an explosive innings of 73 runs hitting eight fours and four sixes in 43 balls.
Brad Evans (8) was castled by Corbin Bosch in the third ball of the last over of the innings.
Zimbabwe made a competitive score of 153 runs for seven wickets in the 20 overs.
Clive Madande played an unbeaten innings of 26 runs hitting three fours in 20 balls.
Kwena Maphaka and Corbin Bosch took two wickets each for South Africa.
George Linde, Lungi Ngidi and Anrich Nortje took one wicket each.
The match is being played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley stadium.
