Manama (Bahrain), Feb 14(.) The Indian contingent bagged 15 medals, including two golds at the BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2026 that concluded here on Saturday.
Pramod Bhagat won a Gold medal at the MS SL3 category, Bhagat picked another Gold at the MD SL3–SL4 category partnering Sukant Kadam.
India’s silver medal winners include- Naveen Sivakumar(MS SL4), Manisha Ramadass
(WS SU5), Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan (WS SH6), Prem Ale & Alphia James(XD WH1–WH2) and Naveen Sivakumar & Jagadish Dilli(MD SL3–SL4).
India’s Bronze medalists include- Nitesh Kumar(MS SL3), Sukant Kadam(MS SL4), Thulasimathi Murugesan(WS SU5), Krishna Nagar(MS SH6), Suryakant Yadav & Umesh Vikram Kumar (MD SL3–SL4) Manasi Joshi & Thulasimathi Murugesan(WD SL3–SU5) Chirag Baretha & Mandeep Kaur(XD SL3–SU5) Krishna Nagar & Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan(XD SH6).
Head Coach Gaurav Khanna felt that the squad, given its calibre should have won more gold medals “15 is good but there should have been more Golds and more number of medals based on our consistent performces in the World Championhips, we missed Suhas(Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj) here.”
Khanna added that the squad will now immedietely start preperation for the Asian Games.
