New Delhi, Jan 30 (.) DP World on Friday announced a multi-year strategic partnership with the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). The global logistics major will serve as the Tour’s Title Partner and Official Umbrella Partner.
The move is being seen as one of the most significant investments in Indian professional golf and a step towards deeper international integration of the sport.
The partnership is aimed at strengthening the competitive structure of the PGTI, expanding global playing pathways for Indian golfers and supporting grassroots and junior development programmes. It is also expected to enhance India’s integration into the global professional golf ecosystem.
DP World, a global logistics major and long standing title partner of the DP World Tour, said the association reflects its wider commitment to India as a strategic market and to sport as a platform for long-term growth and performance.
The collaboration will focus on infrastructure development, sustainability of the Tour and exposure for Indian professionals at the international level.
PGTI officials said the partnership would help elevate professional standards and increase opportunities for players across the country. The Tour, which stages world-ranking events, has expanded steadily in recent years with higher prize money, new venues and a growing calendar.
During the 2025 season, PGTI conducted 36 tournaments with a combined prize purse exceeding ₹35 crore, excluding marquee international events.
The partnership builds on DP World’s recent expansion in Indian golf, including the launch of the DP World India Championship in 2025. Officials indicated that the event is expected to become a regular fixture on both domestic and international tour calendars.
The PGTI leadership described the association as a defining moment for Indian golf, saying it would boost visibility, competitiveness and long-term player development. With global backing now in place, the Tour is expected to enter a new phase of growth, positioning Indian golfers more firmly on the world stage.
