Hyderabad, Mar 2 (.) Ramoji Film City will host India’s first cine-magical ‘Glow Run’ on March 14, promising participants a unique racing experience amid cinematic settings illuminated with vibrant lights and celebratory ambience.
Open to professional runners, families and first-time participants, the event will transform the famed film city’s grand avenues into glowing trails for the night run.
Setting the tone for the event, the Glow Run jersey was unveiled on Monday and handed over to run ambassadors.
The launch event was attended by Padma Shri awardee and noted Kuchipudi exponent Deepika Reddy as Chief Guest and ace Indian archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam as Guest of Honour, along with dignitaries of Ramoji Film City.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepika Reddy lauded the initiative, saying the Glow Run celebrates the collective spirit and participation.
“This run is not about winning but about participation, and every participant is a winner,” she said.
Jyothi Surekha emphasised the importance of adopting sports as part of daily life.
“Running should be part of everyone’s lifestyle for a healthy mind and body,” she said.
Organisers said participants can choose from three categories — 3 km and 5 km runs for beginners, families and active runners, and a 10 km Night Challenge for seasoned runners.
While the 3 km is a Fun Run, the 5 km and 10 km categories will be timed runs.
For the convenience of participants, free transport services will be provided from LB Nagar Metro Station to Ramoji Film City and back.
A DJ Glow Party has also been planned post-event, along with themed photo opportunities across the venue.
