New Delhi, Jan 27 (.) Actor Janhvi Kapoor has praised Varun Dhawan for his performance in the war drama ‘Border 2’, applauding the actor’s portrayal in the film.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Janhvi shared an intense scene featuring Varun Dhawan and wrote, “I am so proud of you Varundvn. You KILLED IT. Goosebumps and the whole team!!! What an experience.”
The Homebound actor appeared to have watched the film recently, joining the growing chorus of appreciation for the much-anticipated sequel.
Varun Dhawan, meanwhile, has been expressing gratitude for the overwhelming response to ‘Border 2’, in which he essays the role of an Indian Army soldier.
On Instagram, the actor shared a photograph of co-stars Ahan Shetty and Sunny Deol taking a selfie with fans, with hundreds of phone lights illuminating the moment.
Calling the film one of the major milestones of his career, Varun thanked the makers for trusting him with the role and acknowledged fans for embracing his performance.
In another post, the actor wrote, “Love will always triumph over hate. Thank you.”
At the box office, ‘Border 2’ has emerged as a clear winner. The film’s opening weekend collections have surpassed those of Chhaava and Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film opened with Rs 32.10 crore on Friday and went on to collect Rs 129.89 crore over the weekend, with Sunday alone contributing Rs 57.20 crore.
The Republic Day holiday provided a significant boost, adding Rs 63.59 crore to the tally. With this, the film’s total collections have climbed to Rs 193.48 crore, inching close to the Rs 200 crore mark.
Directed by Anurag Singh, ‘Border 2’ also stars Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty and Diljit Dosanjh in key roles. The film is produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films.
