Ranchi, Feb 9 (.) The daughters of Jharkhand secured two silver medals and one bronze at the 69th National School Games Federation of India (SGFI) Under-19 Boxing Championship held at St. Claret PU College, Jalahalli, Bengaluru.
The Jharkhand team participated in the national championship under the leadership of the Jharkhand Education Project Council, Ranchi.
The championship was held from February 4 to 9, 2026.
In the 45 kg weight category, Jessica Khes clinched a silver medal after finishing as runner-up against Maharashtra in the final. In the 54 kg category, Amisha Kerketta secured a silver medal after a strong performance in the final against Delhi.
Meanwhile, Neeta Rose Tigga earned a bronze medal in the 57 kg category after a competitive semifinal bout against Haryana.
State Programme Officer Dhirsen A. Soreng, stated, “The daughters of Jharkhand are scaling new heights in sports and will continue to make the state proud at national and international levels.”
Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Education Secretary Umashankar Singh, Project Director Shashi Ranjan, extended their best wishes for their bright future.
