Hyderabad, Feb 12 (.) Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited on Thursday unveiled Mahindra UDO, its most advanced electric three-wheeler to date, marking a strategic push to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly expanding last-mile electric mobility market.
The new e-auto is priced at an introductory ₹3.58 lakh (ex-showroom), compared with a regular price of ₹3.84 lakh.
The e-auto delivers a 200 km real-world range (265 km ARAI-certified), powered by an 11.7 kWh IP67-rated Li-ion battery and a PMS motor producing 10 kW peak power and 52 Nm torque.
With three drive modes—Range, Ride and Race—and a top speed of 55 kmph, UDO is positioned to balance efficiency with faster trip turnaround.
Mahindra UDO is manufactured at the company’s Zaheerabad plant (Sangareddy district, Telangana), which has seen significant investments in automated battery assembly and robotised production lines, the company said in a release here.
The model is expected to play a key role in expanding Mahindra’s footprint in the premium electric auto space and supporting broader electrification of last-mile mobility.
Positioned as a premium offering in the fast-growing L5M electric auto category, UDO, India’s first auto plane, is aimed at improving driver earnings, lowering operating costs and elevating the professional image of auto drivers key factors in accelerating EV adoption.
Inspired by aircraft aesthetics, UDO adopts a segment-first full monocoque construction, promising higher structural strength and improved ride quality.
Mahindra is betting on comfort as a productivity enhancer. UDO features a thicker, ergonomically designed pilot seat for drivers and “first-class” passenger seating with ample legroom and headroom.
Independent rear suspension and dual fork front suspension are expected to improve ride quality on uneven urban roads, potentially translating into longer working hours with less fatigue.
Mahindra claims best-in-class energy efficiency, supported by regenerative braking and an industry-first reverse throttle, which also reduces brake usage and wear—lowering maintenance costs over the vehicle’s lifecycle.
UDO comes with a 1.5 lakh km or six-year warranty, IP67-rated drivetrain and battery, and powerful drum brakes delivering short braking distances. Tubeless tyres further enhance operational safety.
To strengthen ownership economics, Mahindra is offering free services up to 1 lakh km and enrolling customers into its UDAY NXT programme, which includes ₹20 lakh accidental insurance and financial counseling benefits aimed at increasing trust and reducing risk perception among buyers.
Commenting on the launch, Ms. Suman Mishra, Managing Director and CEO, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited, said the UDO reflects the company’s intent to move last-mile mobility “from survival to dignity,” while setting new benchmarks for design, safety and performance in the category.
From an automobile business perspective, the UDO underscores Mahindra’s intent to defend and grow its leadership in electric commercial vehicles by pushing higher-value products in a rapidly commoditising three-wheeler EV market.
